We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Marketing + Customer Experience Intern to join our team in Farmington, CT. This internship provides hands-on experience across a wide range of marketing activities at a multi-billion-dollar company, including digital marketing, lead management, public relations, advertising, tradeshows, and events. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker, strong communicator, and team player with a passion for marketing and technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Digital Marketing Support
    • Assist in managing website updates, email campaigns, and social media channels
    • Support content creation (graphics, copywriting, photography, video editing)
    • Monitor and report on digital campaign performance metrics
  • Public Relations & Advertising
    • Draft press releases, media pitches, and newsletter content
    • Assist with advertising campaigns and placements (print and digital)
    • Track media coverage and compile reports
    • Interface with external agencies to support special marketing projects
  • Tradeshows & Events
    • Support planning and execution of industry tradeshows, open houses, and customer events
    • Assist with logistics, promotional materials, and on-site coordination
    • Capture event content for digital channels
  • General Marketing Support
    • Conduct market research and competitive analysis
    • Provide administrative support for day-to-day marketing operations
    • Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions
  • Lead Management
    • Collaborate and support with sales and marketing teams to optimize lead nurturing processes

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); experience with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva a plus
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing tools preferred
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment

Consumer PR Internship

  • The Essentials
  • Thinking: Intellectual curiosity and creativity is a must
  • Storytelling: Understand the elements that make a story exciting and how to highlight them in what you read in the press and what you see on social media
  • Communication: Speak, write and edit succinctly and compellingly
  • Management: Meet deadlines, put out fires and multi-task. Work fast, and work well
  • Interpersonal: Play nice, whether it’s in a team, with a team or independently
  • Technical: Know Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. Media databases and social tracking tools are a bonus (examples: Cision, Muckrack)
  • Detail-Oriented: Whether it’s a media list or a recap report, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering clear and precise work are essential

  • What You Will Be Doing
  • Research: Analyze brands using various resources, thoughtful and detailed research helps our bring ideas and plans to life
  • Engage: Share big ideas in brainstorms and with teams
  • Plan: Assist in event coordination and logistics
  • Create: Craft written communications, including media materials, from briefing books to media pitches
  • Hustle: Pitch stories to media, develop media lists, track placements, etc.
  • Monitor: Track brands in traditional online and social media. Previous campaign reporting experience is a plus
  • Organization: Organize and maintain product closet, check inventory, order product/shipping supplies
  • Product send outs: Compile various product mailers and coordinate product shipments

CT Mirror – Audience Engagement Internship Summer internship

Deadline: March 31

Work with the CT Mirror team over the summer to promote stories across social media and the Mirror’s newsletters. Collaborates with our audience team on the CT Mirror Explains product, video, social media, search engine optimization, and on other audience engagement projects.

  • 12 weeks, 35-40 hours per week
  • Paid, also can receive college credit
  • Based in CT Mirror’s Hartford newsroom
  • Hybrid, with at least once weekly required in-office time
